Though we are sleeping, our mind is still awake. It is still in activity as it creates different pictures and images that oftentimes can lead us to waking up refreshed in the morning. The word dream means joy and music that is why there are times we smile orlaugh when we are asleep.

All people who sleep have dreams. Many of us either have long dreams or short dreams, happy or sad dreams and sometimes, romantic or afflicting scenes. Health experts say that dreaming is essential for us because it only signifies that our body contains protein. Everybody dreams, there are just people who forget what they dreamed about so they end up thinking they didn?t dream at all.

As mentioned, since there are instances that we can?t remember our dreams in the morning after we have woken up;and we can?t recall half of it while sometimes, only a small portion of it are retained in our remembrance, it is worth knowing that even blind people dream. However, the difference is ? they only dream about the images of what they have seen or heard before they became blind. There are studies that show that many people have experienced a recurrence of their dreams. This means, they dream the same dream but in a different situation of sleep. Children most of the time don?t dream about themselves but about other people instead.

Studies show that men often dream more occasionally about other men. This is while women dream more often about men and women. Experts mention that both men and women that snores while sleeping do not experience dreaming. This also goes for people who smoke.

Many people are so amazed by their dreams because they can look so real. This is why many are hooked to getting an interpretation of their dreams. The interpretation of dreams started way back to almost 3000 BC. Proof of this are the artefacts that were recovered having these dream interpretations. These are written in clay tablets.

Not all dreams are in the form of a fairy-tale. There are times when they can become so scary and unpleasant or to horrible. This kind of frightful dream is disturbing for us everytime we get up from bed. There are situation that this nightmare remain constant ? making us afraid to sleep during the night.

According to psychologists, people who regularly have a nightmare have a tendency to have psychiatric problems running in the family. Nightmares are the signs of fear of a person which may be a result of an unknown reason that should be dealt with. Oftentimes, one who has nightmares may be a victim of a trauma. He or she may also be too anxious in life or too scared and in denial to accept a certain life situation.

There is another situation for our eve of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness. This is referred to as ?daydreaming?. in this case, we are awake but we let our mind imagine things and we allow it to carry us to these imaginations or to wander off. As we are carried away by imagining things, our level of consciousness decreases.
