City University of Seattle seeks an experienced and dynamic leader to be our new Executive Director of the Washington Academy of Languages (WAL) program. The purpose of the Academy is to promote cross-cultural understanding through language instruction and teacher training. This vital role facilitates the creation and implementation of plans, policies, processes, and strategies for program offerings to meet institutional and academic goals. The Executive Director will work with the entire WAL team for success with student satisfaction, leadership, innovation, and program delivery. The ideal candidate will have a proven understanding of market trends, the knowledge to set benchmarks and meet growth targets, and the ability to develop student recruitment plans with innovative outreach strategies. This candidate will have a bachelor?s degree (master?s degree is preferred) and a minimum of five years experience at the associate director level or above in a language school, extension education or study abroad program. Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. Minimum of five years professional work experience as a director, associate director, or similar position in a language school, extension education, or study abroad program required. Demonstrated understanding of market trends and current technological tools that best assist in recruiting students. Demonstrated leadership abilities, including short and long-term goal setting and achievement, and the ability to motivate staff towards results.
