The reasons for male hair loss are well-documented. Women are just as susceptible to hair loss as men. It is believed by some researchers that women can be even more prone to hair loss. So why is there not as much attention given to women?s hair loss as there is to men?s hair loss? We cannot provide a good answer for that. But we can talk about some of the reasons for women?s hair loss. So please continue reading this article to discover more.

As you know, the condition in men is called male pattern baldness. And women have the same condition, and it?s called female pattern baldness. It?s not same as androgenic alopecia, but it?s similar to it. The thing about women is that the pattern that the hair is lost is different. What normally occurs in men is the hair loss first appears in certain, usual locations, and then it slowly branches out from that spot. In women, they tend to thin out all over the scalp starting at the top.

So with women, there is no patten that you can point to because it is just all over.

Yet one other hair loss condition women experience is, telogen effluvium. Temporary shedding is another term for this condition. When normal sheddding occurs, with this particular condition it happens very quickly. What happens is that this happens after something that is traumatic. Extreme distress of the emotions can also cause this. However it?s only temporary, and the hair returns and grows back once things are more calm. But there?s no way of knowing if you?ll ever experience this until you actually do.

Menopause has the distinction of causing hair loss in a huge majority of cases with women. There are numerous changes that occur when menopause hits, and hair loss is among them. It?s quite common for an increase in the amount of hair loss in post-menopause than any other time. This is because her estrogen levels drop and her hormones go out of whack. But unfortunately, a woman?s hair cannot be made to replace what has been lost through hormonal replacement therapy. There could be other options that you may be interested in, so speak with your family doctor.

It?s obvious that women?s hair loss does not garner the equivalent amount of public attention than men?s hair loss. We have no idea as to why this happens. However it is probably true that women are much more embarrassed about this and may not seek help with it. We can only hope that this will change in time. Research, time, and public awareness will hopefully shed more light on this area.

Veterinarian involved in horse race fraud dies | The Associated ...

Mark J. Gerard, the veterinarian for champion horses Secretariat and Kelso whose racing career was ruined when he ran a ringer in a 1977 race at Belmont Park, has died. He was 76.

He died June 21 in Miami from complications from a stroke, according to his sister, Joyce Aimee Titchnell of Los Angeles. He was at work on June 6 at a stable in Wellington, Fla., where he treated polo ponies, when he was stricken.

Gerard was a well-regarded veterinarian at New York's major racetracks in the 1960s and '70s, overseeing the health of hundreds of horses owned by the sport's top stables and trainers.

"My brother was considered the most important vet in the country. If anybody had a real problem with a horse, they would call Mike in," Titchnell told The Associated Press on Wednesday, referring to her brother by the name his family called him. "He could take care of horses like no one."

On Sept. 23, 1977, an unknown horse from Uruguay named Lebon won a Belmont Park turf race at 57-1 odds. The horse was actually Cinzano, the top 3-year-old colt in the South American country in 1976, who had won seven of eight stakes races.

Both horses had been imported by Gerard for other owners, and their identities had been switched. Gerard paid $81,000 for Cinzano and he sold him to Joseph Taub for $150,000. Gerard paid $1,600 for lowly Lebon and sold him to Jack Morgan for $9,500.

While Cinzano was shocking the bettors at Belmont, investigators said the real Lebon's remains were likely covered by tons of garbage at a dump in Huntington, N.Y.

That June, the day after the two horses were flown from Uruguay to New York, Gerard reported that one of them, which he identified as Cinzano, had died at his farm on Long Island after fracturing his skull.

He filed an insurance claim for the horse. Taub, who was not implicated in the scheme, received an insurance settlement of $150,000.

Gerard then procured a certificate of foreign registration from the Jockey Club for the horse he called Lebon, supplying photographs of Cinzano.

The lesser regarded horse's real name came to light when a racing editor in Uruguay, thrilled by the news of humble Lebon's unexpected victory, asked The Associated Press for a winner's circle photograph. He immediately recognized Cinzano and alerted the New York Jockey Club.

A dental exam revealed the difference between the horses: the ringer was a 4-year-old; Lebon was 5.

Gerard had bet $1,200 to win and $600 to show on Lebon, earning him $80,440 for the wagers.

Gerard was acquitted of two felony counts, but found guilty of a misdemeanor for "fraudulent entries and practices in contests of speed." He was sentenced to a year in jail and fined $1,000. The sentence was reduced on appeal, and he served a lesser jail sentence.

"Every time he had to put down a horse, you couldn't talk to him for days," Titchnell said, "so I can't see him doing anything to a horse. It's just so foreign to anything he would have done."

Titchnell said she never discussed the scandal in detail with her brother.

"The only thing he would always say was he was not guilty," she said Wednesday. "I have never figured it out. He was making a lot of money. He was at the top of his game. He had it all. It never made sense to anyone. It was a mystery that will probably never be solved."

Born Mark Joel Geronimus on Oct. 6, 1934, in Brooklyn, he changed his last name when he became a veterinarian.

During summers, Gerard worked at the New York tracks as an exercise rider and a hot walker. One of his first employers was Sunny Jim Fitzsimmons, who trained for the high-profile Phipps family stable.

As Gerard's vet career took off, he cared for Kentucky Derby winners Secretariat, Riva Ridge, Canonero II and Kelso, a five-time Horse of the Year.

After the scandal, with his racetrack career finished, Gerard moved to Wellington, Fla., outside of Palm Beach, and cared for polo ponies.

"He had no children and horses were everything to him since he was a little boy," Titchnell said.

Her brother was cremated and his ashes scattered "where happy horses graze," she said, quoting his written instructions.

Besides his sister, Gerard is survived by his wife of 41 years, Alice.

SIA: Alpine Skiing Participation Grew 5.4% | Skiing Business

According to a report released Tuesday by SnowSports Industries America, more than 31 million Americans consider themselves snowsports participants, or 7.5 percent of the U.S. population. More than half of those people are concentrated in 10 states.

This data is part of SIA?s annual Snow Sports Participation Report, a collaboration between SIA and the Physical Activity Council that surveys more than 38,500 American households about their sports and leisure habits.

siastory

It covers alpine skiers, telemark skiers, freestyle skiers, snowboarders, crosscountry skiers and snowshoers.

?The report is a one stop shop for information about consumers in the show sports marketplace,? says Kelly Davis, SIA?s director of research.

Highlights of the report include:

-Alpine skiing grew 5.4 percent and snowboarding grew 10.4 percent from the 2008/09 to 2009/10 seasons

-Alpine skiers (44 percent) and snowboarders (31 percent) make up three fourths of all participants

-47 percent of alpine skiers had incomes above $100,000

-Two thirds of snowboarders are male, and 64 percent of snowboarders are between 13 and 34 years old

The full press release is available below.

MCLEAN, Va. ?(June 28, 2011) - Today SnowSports Industries ?America (SIA) released the comprehensive ?2011 SIA Snow Sports Participation Report today detailing snow sports participation ?trends, participant demographic profiles and differences between core ?participants and casual participants. The Report covers alpine skiers, telemark ?skiers, park and pipe (freestyle) skiers, snowboarders, cross country skiers ?and snowshoers. SIA works with its Physical ?Activity Council partners to survey more than 38,500 American ?households on their sports and leisure activities.

This year, the participation data ?collected uncovered a number of burgeoning trends among snow sports?? 21 million active participants, as well as ?information about? the 10.5 million ?Americans, who consider themselves skiers or riders, but did not participate in ?the past season and why.

?This report is a one stop shop ?for information about consumers in the snow sports marketplace. It clearly ?describes core skiers and riders as well as more casual snow sports ?participants,? said Kelly Davis, Director of Research at SIA. You?ll learn who ?they are, how often they participate in various snow sports including skiing, ?riding, and snowshoeing, and what they like to do when they aren?t on the ?slopes and trails.?

The Report uncovers the other ?activities snow sports participants like best including running, bicycling, ?skateboarding, surfing, walking, golf and crossover into more than 100 other ?activities. It also reveals increasing diversification in snow sports, ?particularly in the freeski and snowboard disciplines. Finally, the Report ?indicates where skiers and riders are sliding including at resorts, resort ?side-country, non-resort backcountry and in urban and suburban settings.

Key findings in the report include:

- The ?total number of individual participants in all six disciplines is 21,226,000.

- 7.5% of ?the total U.S. population (+6 years old) participates in at least one snow sport ?discipline.

- Alpine ?skiing grew 5.4% and snowboarding 10.4% from the 2008/09 to 2009/10 seasons.

- Alpine ?skiers (44%) and snowboarders (31%) make up three-fourths of all participants.

About 60% ?of the alpine skiers and 62% snowboarders are concentrated in ten states.

- High ?income earners account for large segments of participants with 47% of all ?alpine skiers and 32% of all snowboarders respectively having annual incomes of ?$100,000 or more.

- Increased ?diversity among all segments of snow sports participants is a steady trend with ?African American, Asian and Hispanic ethnicities growing on-average 5% per year ?and now collectively making-up about 30% of all snow sports participants.

- Snowboarding ?is a young man?s game, two-thirds (66%) of the participants are males and 64% ?fall between 13 and 34years of age. Males make-up 60% of alpine skiers and 44% fall between 13 and 34 years ?of age.

- The ?number of snowboarders that also ski went from 26% in 2008/09 to 34% in 2009/10.

-Snowboarders ?participate, on average 58% more days (11.7) than alpine skiers (7.4).

- Participation ?rates range from 9.0 days for cross country to 7.3 days for snowshoeing.

For more information about snow ?sports participation please call Kelly ?Davis, SIA?s Director of Research, at 703.506.4224 ?or KDavis@snowsports.org.? How many women wore Prostate Cancer ribbons on ... - Breast Cancer

Hi,I did the following:

How many women wore Prostate Cancer ribbons on Father?s Day?On Mother?s Day, many men wore pink ribbons to support the fight and research against breast cancer. Many men marched in breast cancer research-funding walks and parades. Many men joined women in various charity drives for the support of breast cancer research. In fact, the Major League Baseball players (all men) used pink bats and wore pink armbands in the games that Mother?s Day to support this very same cause:

http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070513/capt.cd510df56c504e299e2882c9d02adfc9.marlins_nationals_baseball_rfk108.jpg

Now, how many women wore prostate cancer ribbons for Father?s Day?

*crickets*

Further evidence that feminists have influenced society to ignore men?s health issues. Further evidence that women today are far more sexist than men.

Let me also state that there is roughly the same amount of reported cases of prostate cancer per year as there is breast cancer cases (slightly over 200,000 for each).
The number difference between the breast and prostate cancer per year are only in the few thousands.

How many of you women even know what a Prostate Cancer ribbon looks like? Probably none of you.

Don?t worry ladies, I?ve provided a link:

http://www.theribbonlady.com/images/light-blue-layout.jpg

How many feminist women here even care?

*crickets*
Smahteepanties: Plenty of people in the medical field wear ribbons. At my local hospital this past Mother?s Day, a Breast Cancer Research drive was thrown with people wearing pink t-shirts, including many medical physicians. There are many doctors and nurses that ran in breast cancer research marathons to raise money. Just because they work in the medical field doesn?t mean they have to feel ?high-and-mighty? as if they don?t need to support any cancer charities.

Your choice to not wear ribbons is your own preference, but does not represent the views of all medical workers.
Deirdre: What makes you think that myself and other Men?s Rights activists aren?t all over it? I?ve been spreading the word about prostate cancer awareness for the past year or so. Also, you sexist statement that the only way for men to address health issues is with stereotypical macho ?posturing? and ?bragging? only shows your lack of maturity that you try to conceal behind your thin veil of self-righteousness. It also shows how you poke fun at serious health issues regarding men; only further proving my point of feminist women?s indifference to men?s health issues.

You really should work on ceasing to project your own immaturity and sexism on to others.
Trinitrotoluene: Yes, women are far more sexist than men. The fact that you think such an idea is far-fetched is in itself a testament to your own sexism and prejudice against men. This is a socialized phenomena ? that we associate sexism with men, just as we associate racism with whites.

Here?s a study from Science Daily that showed that women are more prone to being prejudice and sexist against the opposite gender than men:

-kate lomax
We had no need to wear the ribbons as we organised a charity golf match all proceeds going to the national prostrate fund over here.
Proactivity.

Understanding Healthy Low Carb Diets

Many people who want to start a low-carb diet often seek a carbohydrate list to help them select a low carb diet plan. Carbohydrates are mainly provided through the plant foods. The most common carbohydrates are foods such as rice, pasta, and bread. They are needed as a primary source of energy. Carbohydrates can be split up into three different groups; simple carbohydrates, complex carbohydrates and starch and dietary fibres. Therefore to make a carbohydrate list of all foods would be very lengthy. However, a carbohydrate list can be simplified by defining carbohydrates as good carbs and bad carbs.

Carbohydrates are split into simple carbs and complex carbs. The simple carbs being the bad carbs and the complex carbs being the good carbs. They are defined in this way due to the way they are made up and the way the body processes them. Some weight loss diets recommend very low carb intakes because of the way the body processes and uses carbs. However, since energy is the main function of carbohydrates, no diet should be completely carb free. A deficiency of carbohydrates could lead to health issues such as fatigue, mental impairment and muscle cramps. If a very low carb diet is required, then complex carbs should be selected over simple carbs.

Foods which have longer chains of sugar molecules as well as higher levels of fibre, should be preferred in the diet. These will be foods that are complex carbohydrates. Examples of complex carbohydrates to include are whole grains, edible plant parts such as stalks and leaves. These complex carbohydrates take longer for the body to digest. This will provide the body with energy for a longer period of time and will not convert to fat associated with simple carbohydrates.

Simple carbohydrates contain high levels of sugar and low fibre content. When simple carbohydrates are eaten they are processed very quickly, often before it can be burned off as energy. This has the result of fat being stored in the body. Included in a list of simple carbohydrate foods would be foods such as, cookies, cakes, candy and white bread, Eating too many can raise blood sugar levels and insulin levels and cause weight gain.

We have been told for a long time to eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. However, some fruit and carbohydrates in vegetables fall into the category of simple carbohydrates as they are high in sugar. The only difference is that they do contain some fibre which is processed by the body more slowly, which makes them react more like complex carbohydrates.

Other foods which are perhaps not so obvious in the high carbohydrate content include foods which have been refined and highly processed. These high carb foods include white bread and pasta. White rice and potatoes also contain high levels of simple carbohydrates.

On the list of high carbohydrate foods includes some beans such as chickpeas, white beans, black-eyed peas and some root vegetables such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and corn. Some dairy products such as low fat milk, plain yogurt and skimmed milk are also high in carbohydrates.

So when it comes to making a carbohydrate list what can you use to help you? One source of information is to read the labels on the packets of foods you buy to determine the carb content of the food you are buying. By law all packaging of foods should state the carb content, usually per 100g. There are also many online sites that will work out the carb count for you.

Getting a complete list of carbohydrates is very helpful when planning a low-carb diet. One carbohydrate list is the glycemic index. This carbohydrate list explains how quickly foods are digested in the body. The lower the glycemic index, the lower the carbohydrate content will be and the better it will be if you are wishing to lose weight.

Carbohydrates for a long time have been very misunderstood. Therefore, having a carbohydrate list if starting on a low-carb diet will certainly help you plan the foods you can eat as well as sourcing low carb recipes. The constant eating of bad carbs will increase your risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and other degenerative diseases. Although no diet should be carb free, a low carb diet could have many health benefits.

Broken Bones, Supplements, Cleansing and Parasites | Deb's Health ...

This past eight weeks has been unbelievable! I moved on May 1st, and broke my arm. Drove almost 4 hours with a broken arm, got moved into my too-small apartment that is STILL stacked with boxes that I have no room for, sat down and cried. I had first a splint for a week, then a cast for 6 weeks. During this time, I ate a lot of raw fruits and veggies, and junk food because I could not cook. Actually, I couldn't open anything to eat...not jars or cans, at least. I got very depressed, so depressed that I couldn't even blog about the whole situation.

So the cast came off on June 22nd, and it hurt like hell for a few days. I lived on ibuprofen and tylenol, I swear. BTW, if you take two of each, it's a scientifically proven fact that it works better than either of them alone. Something to store away in your brain the next time you're in pain.

The pain has gotten better, the swelling is going down, and I'm able to move it a little more and do more with it. The worst part of the entire ordeal was not being able to take a shower, because I was so broke from not being able to write that I couldn't afford the thingy that goes over your arm to shield it from water. My first bath after 6 weeks was the most pleasureable experience I've had in a long time. Tub baths were hard because of my knees. It's hard to get in and out of the tub. Sponge baths left me feeling like I was still dirty. I managed to wash my hair in the kitchen sink, which has one of those tall, curved faucets, thank God! Otherwise, don't know how I would have done it. Couldn't dry my hair though, so it had to go au-naturale, which isn't pretty, trust me. Now that I'm back to work, I'll definitely be saving up for a day at the salon to get my hair and other such stuff taken care of.

So while I had this broken bone, I had to take a lot of supplements to make it heal. I had already started taking most of them, only had to add foods high in silica, more vitamin C and D3.? I hate pills, so it was not a pleasant experience choking down 20 or so assorted capsules and tablets. I found in my research that not only does MSM kill parasites and heal your skin, it also helps build bones. I've decided to keep on taking all these supplements, since I do have osteoporosis. Maybe it will help, who knows?

I'm starting a Master Cleanse for 30 days on July 1st. Today is my first day of prep, which consists of eating nothing but fruits and veggies for four days. Heaven! I love fruits and veggies! See, when I'm depressed I eat junk food...lots of junk food...which means for the past 7 weeks, I have gorged on chips, dips, candy, soda, cookies, cake and ice cream. Only gained 2 lbs, which is strange, but it's 2 more pounds I don't need.

This will be a modified cleanse, first the straight 10-day Master Cleanse, then 10 days of Master Cleanse and veggie broth, and the last ten days will be MC plus veggie soup/transitional food. I'm hoping to lose 20 lbs. We'll see.

Finally, after all that, I will do my Ivermectin/ABZ/Doxy protocol for 5 weeks. Not looking forward to that, but I think that all this preparation will make it maybe a little less harsh than it could be. I haven't had much skin or eye activity lately, and no itching butt, but my cat has persistent roundworms, so I know I do too. During the MC month, I will be working very hard and saving money in case I can't work during some of the protocol. After the protocol, a 4 day long lemonade fast to clear out some of the remaining toxins, then I'll be done.

By the middle of September, I should be parasite-free and healthy. I hope. One can only hope. Of course, I'll be documenting it all here.

Ex-Citigroup VP accused of stealing $19 million (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) ? A former vice president of Citigroup Inc was charged on Monday with embezzling more than $19 million from the company's accounts.

Gary Foster, 35, was arrested on Sunday at New York's Kennedy airport on a flight arriving from Bangkok, prosecutors said. He was scheduled to make his initial appearance Monday afternoon in Brooklyn federal court, where he would plead not guilty to the charges, according to his attorney, Isabelle Kirshner.

Between May 2009 and December 2010, prosecutors said, Foster transferred $19.2 million from Citigroup debt-adjustment and interest-expense accounts to his own personal bank account at JPMorgan Chase.

Foster put fake contract and deal account numbers in the wire-transfer instructions to make them seem like they were supporting an existing contract, before diverting them first into the bank's cash accounts and then into his own accounts in as many as eight separate transfers, prosecutors alleged.

"The defendant allegedly used his knowledge of bank operations to commit the ultimate inside job," said U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch.

The alleged fraud went unnoticed until a recent internal audit of Citigroup's internal treasury department. A Citigroup investigator immediately informed the authorities, according to an affidavit from Thomas D'Amico, a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

A representative for Citigroup said the bank was "outraged" by Foster's alleged actions.

"Citi informed law enforcement immediately upon discovery of the suspicious transactions and we are cooperating fully to ensure Mr. Foster is prosecuted to the full extent of the law," the bank said in a statement.

Judge rules Casey Anthony competent to stand trial (Reuters)

ORLANDO, Fla (Reuters) ? A judge ruled on Monday that accused child killer Casey Anthony is mentally fit to continue standing trial based on psychological testing conducted over the weekend at the request of her lawyers.

Judge Belvin Perry revealed that an emergency motion for the examinations filed by the defense was the reason behind the abrupt cancellation of Saturday's court session.

In preparing for the murder trial, the defense procured its own mental evaluation of Casey but chose not to mount an insanity defense.

Perry provided no explanation of what provoked attorneys to request new evaluations, and the judge sealed the psychological reports from the three court-appointed experts.

The 25-year-old Florida mother is accused of smothering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee with duct tape on June 16, 2008, driving around with the child's body in her car trunk for several days and dumping the remains in woods near their Orlando area home.

Evidence showed Casey spent the following month happily partying with her boyfriend.

Defense attorney Jose Baez contends Caylee accidentally drowned in the Anthonys' backyard pool, and that Casey's inappropriate reaction stemmed from a history of sexual abuse.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

The closely watched trial is now in its sixth week. The delay caused by the competency testing came as the defense presents the final days of its case.

Biochemist Kenneth Furton took the stand for the defense on Monday to rebut key prosecution evidence that chemical compounds found in Casey's car trunk could be the result of Caylee's body decomposing there for several days.

BODY VAPORS

Both Furton and Arpad Vass, who testified for the prosecution, acknowledged this is the first time either had provided evidence in court on the science of chemical vapors given off by a decomposing body.

Furton, a Florida International University professor who studies the volatile chemical compounds given off by live and dead humans, testified that scientists around the world disagree on whether it is possible to identify human remains from chemical signatures.

"There is no instrumental method that's been scientifically validated" to identify a human body from chemical compounds, Furton said.

Furton testified that many of the compounds found in decomposing humans are also found in milk, animal meat and household products.

Vass, who spent 20 years conducting research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory body farm, previously testified that the chemical vapors in Casey's car trunk could not be the result of normal trash.

"It couldn't be caused by someone eating a hamburger and wiping their face," Vass said, adding that the quantity of acids found would require several pounds of raw and very fatty meat loaded with the type of bacteria found inside a body.

Seeking to suggest errors in the investigation, defense attorney Baez also recalled the case's lead detective, Yuri Melich, and two crime scene specialists to testify about a cadaver dog that signaled it had found human remains in Casey's car trunk.

All three witnesses had said in depositions that the dog investigated only one car. The dog handler, however, testified he let the dog sniff a random car in the sheriff's parking lot before taking it to Casey's car, for a total of two cars.

"Probably inevitable" a country will exit euro: Soros (Reuters)

VIENNA (Reuters) ? Billionaire investor George Soros thinks a country will eventually exit the euro zone and urged policymakers on Sunday to come up with a "plan B" that could rescue the European Union from looming economic collapse.

Soros, famous for making $1 billion by betting against the British pound in 1992, did not name any country he thought might exit the currency, but speculation is mounting about the fate of Greece as its politicians struggle to agree more austerity measures demanded by international lenders as the price for staving off bankruptcy.

Soros reiterated his view in a panel discussion in Vienna that the euro had a basic flaw from the start in that the currency was not backed by political union or a joint treasury.

"The euro had no provision for correction. There was no arrangement for any country leaving the euro, which in the current circumstances is probably inevitable," he said.

While he called survival of the European Union a "vital interest to all," he said the EU needed structural changes to halt a process of disintegration.

"There is no plan B at the moment. That is why the authorities are sticking to the status quo and insisting on preserving the existing arrangements instead of recognizing there are fundamental flaws that need to be corrected."

With a debt crisis in some peripheral members testing the EU's cohesiveness at a time of popular disquiet in wealthier countries over bailouts, he said leaders had to adopt measures now to remedy the situation.

"Let's face it: we are on the verge of an economic collapse which starts, let's say, in Greece but could easily spread. The financial system remains extremely vulnerable...

"We are on the edge of collapse and that is the time to recognize the need for change."

Some steps the EU could adopt included creating a larger central budget; directing some of the income from value-added tax or a levy on financial transactions to Brussels; having a European institution guarantee banks, and tripling the size of its bailout fund by topping it up with tax revenue, he said.

Adolescent Care and Modern Pediatrics ? What Should I Expect

When it comes to our kid?s health, we?d do just about anything, I know I would ? and we know that most all parents feel the same. Doctors of pediatrics are special folks indeed, able to relate with the child, gain their trust, and figure out what?s going on ? all the while talking with the concerned parent, on the emotional edge, it?s a tough job. Indeed, perhaps it?s the toughest job in all of healthcare or medicine, except maybe choosing the best one for your family.

Luckily, in any community the medical practitioners know who the good doctors are and they listen to their patients and their recommendations, as well as their complaints. Since, kids are one of our emotional hot buttons it?s impossible to keep all parents happy when it comes to pediatrics, pediatrics medicine, or in-hospital pediatricians. They all do the best they can, and they all learn to deal with totally stressed out parents.

The patients, the kids themselves, well; they are the easy part usually. It?s amazing how resilient they are when it comes to their own conditions, hardships, or diseases. It?s really the parents you have to watch out for, just ask any pediatrician, they?ll tell you, hopefully with a sense of humor which comes with the job ? and the adversity which builds their character.

As our kids reach adolescent ages, things get a little trickier, for the parents and the doctors. There are something teens won?t tell their parents or their doctors, but the doctors seem to have a sixth sense about it all. Now then, as a parent you are probably wondering what to expect right? Well, for broken bones it?s pretty straight forward, the doctor will have advice, but your teen won?t listen. Luckily, kids bones heal fast, and they are amazingly adaptable.

For other more serious issues, it?s you the parent who will probably bear the brunt of the emotional trauma, so make sure you look in your own mirror and take it in stride, ask for the straight goods from the doctor. Read their face and their words. But before you even go in, make sure your kid?s doctor comes highly recommended from both other parents and the medical professionals in your city or town. That is by far the best and safest way to get a professional and qualified doctor for your child, or teen.

Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this and think on it. Be sure to email me with any additional comments, concerns, or questions.
